Hello was just browsing the internet, and found all this great info regarding cass corridor and such.Does anyone remeber the Cafe Detroit. That was a job i had as a dishwasher i worked for Susan Whal,Tim Parvin and Greg.I went to Cass United Church ad i grew up on Peterbro and Charlotte and Lived in the Coranado Biulding.this was all around late 1960 and 1970's I would just like some info on the past.I am aslo looking for the bar that was on Second street between Charlotte and Peterbro street.I understand my Dad hung out there and i met him one time and was not told till years later who he was.His name was Robert Miller and he had cousins that lived on Brainard street and Second, any help would be great.I am 43 now and my mothers name would have been Elaine Walker or Elaine Pelletier.

Was the bar called the Golden Doucat? IIRC, it was on 2nd in that vicinity.

I certainly recall The Cafe Detroit, and did many fun gigs there in the 70s. I thought I heard Suzy had moved to the West Coast, but I have run into her in The Corridor in recent yrs. Before Suzy bought it, it was the old Tartar House restaurant owned by John Barr ... I think he once ran for mayor of Dearborn Hgts before he got busted on some corruption charge. John was a pretty nice guy and would often spring for a meal for someone down on their luck.
