Hey Everybody
Does anyone remember Larry Brooks. He lived on Merrick St. and went to WSU for Art. I believe he graduated sometime in '78. He does not know this, but I am his 31 year old son (my Mother never told him what had happened). I've spent the last several years trying to find him, but I haven't had any luck.

If you know him, or even someone that might know him or have his contact information please email me.

If you have any information please email me at mykgerard@gmail.com

Just a side note,

I don't know if this information is useful at all (it is pretty random) but he had a good friend named Eugene or Gene that could play flute while standing on his head.

Also, it might have been 77 that he graduated...

I should add that he is over 6 feet tall, caucasian and dark haired.

He may be the Larry Donell Brooks graduated in 1977, but I am not sure

Michael, many of us remember Eugene, though I don't know what has become of him. As I mentioned in my email, I've forwarded your note to my sister who was a CCS student around that time. She had several friends who were in the WSU art program, and is asking around.

BTW, what was his concentration in the arts? (fine arts/painting/sculpture/commercial/etc.) That might help narrow it down a bit.

George,
That is cool about Eugene. I don't know anything about him other than the fact that he was "eccentric" which I'm thinking is just about everybody in their group.

I can't thank you enough for your help! I don't know his art focus was.. Unfortunately he was not really close to my Mom. .. They kind of just casually got together that once...

I wish I did have more info to give.

it's funny...

I'm over 6 ft.. have dark hair and I'm an artist. I wonder how much else I might have in common with my genetic father... I wonder if he's still alive.

by the way... This is me and my brand new daughter (I suppose Larry's granddaughter). I want to be able to tell her more than "my father was some guy that went to WSU for art". I'd like to know more about him than just that as well.

Note: I'm sorry for the restrictive posting parameters, but I regularly get spam attacks on the forum, and the only way to deal with it is to get draconian.

thanks Stephen, Jerry said he no longer has contact with the guy and doesn't recall anything about him other than the name Larry Brooks.

Hopefully with this board up, someone somewhere will see it eventually and I'll get to contact him.

okay... I might be wrong about his graduation date. In fact the fact that he graduated is an assumption. I just know that he attended WSU for art and possibly business in the mid to late 70's.

Another thing, He may have been a DJ or staff at "WAYNE RADIO" in the Fall of '76 according to the listing on the hologlobe press website.

Hey guys, I just wanted to update, that I think I found my genetic Father. It was through this board and I would like to thank everyone that helped. Particularly Stephen Goodfellow and George Kerby for puting me in contact with Eugene who put my search into a completely different area and corrected a lot of misinformation that I had (such as the last name being Brooks)... I still am awaiting a paternity test before I declare this thing over, and I'm not going to go into any more detail at the moment in order to ensure the privacy of all those involved. Just want to say thanks for the help.

I hope the test turns out positive and ends your search.

It turned out positive... and ironically it's someone who actually uses this message board and he seems like a really great guy!

Michael, I cannot tell you how delighted I am that this epic search has panned out for you. A thousand congrats for discovering your father - and a cool guy as well! If it is ever an option, we'd LOVE to have a picture of the two of you for the site - I mean, you can't get more 'history' than that!

I'm elated for you too, and glad to have played a role in your (re)union ! I would not have been able to track down Eugene, though, if not for the memory of former Cass Corridor folksinger Jef Fisk, with whom I recently reconnected. It was Jef who recalled Eugene's surname (Kepler).

Great idea for a photo, Stephen.

Johnny DeppHe has it all and has had it all for years!!! And will have it all for years to come. While the others on your list are hwtroy candidates. There is only one Johnny Depp and you can see that in his TV and movie interview's, movies that he plays in , and in the love that he shows for his friends, family, co-workers, fans and especially his children. There is no character that he can't play. He can be loving and sincere, funny, scary, crazy, demented, serious. He can play any part and make it his own and make it believable!!!The other's on your list and maybe even some that aren't on your list and that others will write on here may have some of these traits but they don't even come close to what Johnny Depp has and they never will in my eyes at least!!!!So the answer to your question is this Johnny Depp has it all!!!!
