Is the Old Miami being torn down? I heard it was and that St. Andrew's Hall was being torn down too, to make way for a hotel. True?

I've not heard that either is being torn down - but let me look around and get back to you.

Stephen:
Always far-out to receive word from the 'motor-city'....I have some possible cor-
rections in regards to the latest info....
the picture of the 'Farwell Building' is
I believe a picture of the Forsythe Building..
the Blue Pigs (police singing group) used to
own it or practice there....also as far as
tenants there was Bob Sestok...the original
and only tenant for a time....until later
when others moved in including John Hegarty,
and John Piet.
As for the Common Ground 1 - former tenants
were Bradley Jones, Casey Stranton (sp?)painter,
Carol Steen (sp?)jewelry maker.
Congrats on the beautiful child.
I am currently living in downtown Los Angeles-
the artist loft district -with my child Ulysses working as a freelance promoter for record labels, Hollywood movies (such as Training Day, Shaft), and high-end club events...just did a party for the premier of Gene Simmons' (of Kiss fame) new magazine called Tongue.....and yes I
did speak with Gene himself...in fact have met quite a few celebrities....Ulysses and I had a
friendly chat with Cameron Diaz a couple weeks ago...see Bill Maher of Politically Incorrect
(TV show) frequently & stood very close to Mick Jagger. Such is life in LALA. I am also
very soon going to launch my own HEMP clothing line...more on that later. Ulysses himself has been featured in quite a few MTV videos including
Kid Rock's 'American Bad-Ass' and Pantera's
'Revolution Is My Name'.
Stephen...thank you and keep me updated.
Peace and Love...angelique

Stephen: Gino Lombardi, a carpenter/artist lived in the Forsythe Bldg. sometime in the late 70's, I believe.

The Alvin's posters of 1981 credited to Ralph Rinaldi are actually by Rudy Kawolski, lead singer of the Rockabilly Cats. He did hundreds of flyers in this style for all of his gigs and many of the bars and clubs he played in. Rudy got the photos from men's and crime magazines he found used in Hamtramck where he lived. The text was white transfer lettering burnished down on black construction paper. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Rockin' Rudy?
Speaking of whereabouts, my wife Laura and I moved back to Detroit in March and are now moving into the Kresge Building on Cass at Willis after 14 years in the San Francisco Bay area. The Corridor looks better than ever and so many of our friends here are doing well. It feels good to be home.

I enjoy these strings. thanks. can i ask a question: what was the name of the bar on Cass, east side, down around Peterboro, owned by a vaudevillian, an older lady who wore sequined dresses. the bar had a screened porch. it operated until mid-70's and then they tore it down. thanks
