Does anybody remember Nick? He was a P.I. for Sheldon Helpern, and previously had been a CBS correspondent during the Gulf War. Nick has been in Federal prison for the last 21 years. I met him at the Cafe Detroit when I was singing there with Frank Isola. Nick was a friend of George Korineks'....a good friend. Nick has four more years (he got a solid 25 omigod). But, I bet that he would like to hear from all of his old friends. Nick has just received his doctorate in psychology. His address is:
Nick Medvecky #12155-039
Federal Prison Camp, Mobile-D
Montgomery, AL 36112

Have a nice holiday.

I have a new address for Nick Medvecky. It is:

Nick Medvecky #12155-039
Federal Prison Camp
110 Raby Avenue
Pensacola, FL 32509-5127

I am thinking that he wants to be closer to his sister. I am wondering if he will come back here.
As I said before, I am sure that he would like to hear from his old friends. I know that I would.

Thanks,

Kris Peterson

I'll pass the word along. I was sorry to hear the fate that befell Nick, and always hoped he'd be released sooner. Four more years, what a waste!

All-

I got a letter from Nick yesterday. He states that he wants to come back to Detroit after he is released. He will be doing 6 mo's in a halfway house and, I have an extra room at my place and have offered him an invitation (which he has accepted)to stay here until he gets on his feet. I always liked Nick. Nick was a bright guy. I have kept in contact with him all of these years. His sentence was a SOLID 25 years with NO parole. It is a waste. But, he got his doctorate degree in psychology while there. The Lord works in mysterious ways....at least I hope that it was the Lords work.

Hi Guys-

Nick is still at the same address that is posted. I just got a letter from him last week. He would appreciate some paperbacks if that is the case (he can't have hard covers), but you can send paperbacke direct. NOBODY from the neighborhood has written to him but me. Please, if you can find the time, drop him a note. He's been in jail for 21 years. Can you imagine....? He likes science, and as I said before, he just got his doctorate in Psychology; maybe some crime-related psychology books....or even some good fiction. Anything would be appreciated, I am sure. He is planning to continue as a private investigator when he gets out. We'll see.

I remember Nick and I was wondering whatever happened to him. I have so many fond memories while perusing this valuable site. These memories ought to be preserved. Thank you for all of your good efforts,

Guyz-

I just got a "Communique" from Nick. He will be back sometime in 2009. I offered him a place to stay but he wants to live in the Corridor. He asked for legal books. I sent him a study guide for the bar exam and "Forensics For Dummies. He can have soft cover books only....and no newspapers unless they are a subscription. He can have newspaper clippings though. Just write to him. He will be glad to hear from you.

I got an e-mail from Nick today. A benefactor has donated an office building with an apartment upstairs somewhere near downtown. He said that he will be here sometime in May.

So, Nick is been home. He is confined to quarters for a time ....which I think is excessive. But, all sentences, it seems, are excessive. All are treated the same by the police. I truly think that "assumation" is the problem (I made up that word...it is the state of being assuming). But, I can also surmise that sometimes if you don't assume, it could be too late. This is the dilemma, I perceive.
