Just came back from the party. I was great seeing faces I hadn't seen in quite some years!
Here are the pics:

Ai, yi yi! Thank you for featuring my Wang Dang Doodle Bean Dip!!

I had such a good time...thank you Shack and Laurie, our generous and hardworking hosts, and to everyone who showed up to make it so much fun!

I had a houseful of Cowans, too, in from Boston and New York City, who came in Just For This Party.

Still skippin' down the vasty halls of Memory Lane...

Love,
Benita

hello benita, long time no see. I am living in the Big apple now and left Detroit in 93 to get my MFA from Rutgers University. Mission accomplished. I am now looking for a job with little luck.

I do miss Detroit. Detroit is the greatest I don't care what the locals here say. They are filled with self indulgence and conspicuous consumption.

What a party!!!! Friends gathering together from west coast, east coast, florida, isle of cypress and from who knows where. Must do it again soon. We'll need a bigger "potting" shed next time. We're a very fortunate and a very special group of people to have friendships that will last a lifetime. I'M MISSING ALL THE HUGS ALREADY. Love ya all GARY O

The old potting shed was the place to be at times. I had a wonderful time, and I agree with you Gary. I would not change those 10 years of my life for anything. Next time I visit my sister in Florida I will have to make a side trip and visit you and Sharon.

I only knew of the Big Rapids (Truckers) Trucking Company, in passing. Funny thing is I'd only heard of them until one day when I was hitchhiking to Detroit from, of all places, Big Rapids(late 60's or early 70's). One of the guys picked me up and we struck up a short lived friendship based upon mutual political beliefs and activities, not to mention, if I recall correctly, that he'd attended Lowrey High School in Dearborn and had been a friend of my cousin. He also had been into my friend's head shop in Grand Rapids - Fat City, in the course of business. He put me up at their houes in SW Detroit for a night. I got to see the garage and communal lifestyle. I left in the morning to continue my journey. We saw each other a few times after and that was it. I don't recall his name but I'm sure someone will remember him by my short description and post his name. Thanks all. =Skipper=

The only name I recognize here is Gary O'Gorman. What happened to the Boone's Farme people?
