The Decanter, a bar formerly at Cass and Palmer, was a microcosm of society. Active in the late sixties. Everyone came through there; students, hustlers (pool and otherwise), faculty, pimps, prostitutes, party animals, intellectuals, artists, crazies from the Palmwood – everyone.
It was owned by Mike Dyke senior.

I wish someone had a picture of that mad mural that ran along the side and back corner of the bar.

I remember the Decanter bar too but forgot to include it on the Alcove post. What a blend of unique characters and, having just returned from Vietnam where I was shot, I fit right in. Another trip down memory lane with "Uncle Jerry" Savoy.
